Brooklyn Heights Duplex

We designed this apartment combination by connecting the existing ground floor one-bedroom, via a new interior winding stair with the re-configured unit above, joining the spaces to create one cohesive home. When the apartment upstairs became available, the owner jumped at the chance to create a live-work sanctuary to support their needs as a textile artist and entrepreneur. We created separate public and private spaces while also allowing for the layering in of the owner’s collection of materials, artwork and objects from their travels.
