Fort Greene Townhouse

This historic Brooklyn townhouse, originally built in 1900, sits on an idyllic block near Fort Greene Park. We were tasked with restoring this beautiful building into a supremely livable home.

The floor plans were re-imagined to improve the connection within the living spaces while maximizing light and ease of movement. Contemporary details were woven into the design to support modern ways of living, which included radiant heat flooring, steel-framed doors and windows, a full-floor primary suite, and an additional indoor-outdoor living space on the top floor. Historical details were then thoughtfully layered back in to the spaces. The result is a gracious and comfortable home that mixes the historical with the new, and supports a growing Brooklyn family, welcoming gatherings of all sizes with unfussy ease, and revitalizing a classic home for its next century of family living.
